   June:

  Week 1 

Monday – 6-6 

      After a pretty uneventful weekend, I am still trying to think of how I want to write my stupid paper....I don't think it's good enough to just analyze it....meaning telling what happened....I have to relate it to something....but it's not like any other novel published at the time....hmmmmmm and I have to turn in my abstract today.  Also its raining again.  In the last 6 or 7 days we've only had 2 days of rain.  Can you believe that?  And yes our basement is flooded again, but not as bad as before.  I keep having dreams in spanish.  In some, I'm in class explaining things.....but in a lot I'm arguing something like how they argue things in Brujas the television show.  I also think this means i'm becoming more confident to speak when i feel i should.  The other day my aunt ligia was talking about exercising and we got to the subject of pilates.  She said they didn't work, and it just came out of me.  I said, yes they do work.  I did just the warmup exercise and my stomach hurt the next day like i had done 1000 situps....which by the way are terrible for your back.  Then she told me what she had done in that class and i said that has little to do with pilates, andddddddd you have to be very precise when you do the movements...concentrate...they only work if you do them right.  I've had other dreams where I'm singing songs in spanish and i know them perfectly, although i don't in reality.  I only have 37 more days here and it stinks i have to do so much.  At least i will have one week to get things around and to relax before i have to go.  I'm gonna have to figure out what i want to take back and i have to buy souvenirs too.  I'm leaving all toiletries that i dont need because i overpacked on those last time.  Also i would like to keep the weight down so i dont get charged...but when i think about it...i'd rather get charged from the airlines then get charged to send packages in the mail.  The mail is more expensive and less reliable.  I have also learned to cook a few things by watching, but hopefully they will let me actually do some cooking because that's how I learn.  

Tuesday – 6-7 

      Let's see, I ran into my cousin loreto whom I haven't seen in awhile.  I should really go over to her house to visit angela, jose, her, and lil charly.  and of course my twin here.  At least I think we look alike.  His name is pancho.  Anyways, I figured out why the wireless sucks here on campus.  It's because in the library they are running two wireless broadcasts next to each other and that causes conflicts.  Also wireless just plain sucks.  Haha.  My sister Rocio is leaving today as well for a job research thing for a class.  Yeah I wasn't to clear about that, but that's cuz I don't know what it is.  But it's too bad that I had class for the next two days or i'd have gone with her to travel a little bit.  Oh well, I'm not disappointed too much that I haven't really traveled or that I probably won't.  I just don't have the money for that.  I'm graduating and I will need what little I have now to last.  Someday when I have money I will come back and go to the places I want to see.  

Thursday – 6-9 

      Today I was supposed to have a test, but guess what?  The students protested and we had an assembly instead.  If this keeps up I'll be here forever!  HAhahahahha.  Well that just cannot do.  I need my high speed "cabled" internet.  So i'm kinda glad that i didn't have to take that, but now I have to wait another week and we're supposed to have another test in that class then too.  Wow this is gonna get serious.  I saw Juice the movie, and I love it.  Probably not for everyone but it has 2pac in it! haha.  So today i bought the brujas cd and tomorrow i'm gonna go see star wars, that's if it's not full.  i hope not.  I just noticed how much spanish is affecting my thinking.  As I write these journal entries I think of how it would translate into spanish and where I would use the subjunctive.  I know that most of you don't know what that is, but it's in a lot of languages....even english...just not taught or really recognized....but it's there.  It is after all my favorite verb tense, because it's the hardest.  !Alert for republicans!  I saw this chilean reporter...but a funny reporter go to the states for the premier of star wars 3.  He asked about the funnest question i've ever heard.  He was talking to george lucas and asked him, "where did the dark side of the force come from, the republicans?"  I thought so.  Haha.  Anyways I can't wait to see it because it's all i can talk about and everyone her, well the girls in the family, hate it.  wahhhhhhhh....they don't like space movies...well star wars actually has a very nice plot.. albeit that it was hardly there in the first episode and most of the second...wow those were ruined.  I'm devoting my weekend to studying because i need to catch up in one class and get ahead in the other two.  wish me good luck.  

Friday – 6-10 

      I ventured into the city to the mall to go watch Star Wars III and it was awesome!  Much better than the first and the second.  I felt that they wouldn't screw this one up.  There was some dialog that wasn't all the great, but overall I liked it.  Did anyone see Star Wars for $4.30?  I didn't think so...Thanks Chile.  After the movie I noticed that they were showing it in half an hour after mine finished, and I almost stayed to watch it again, but I had studying to do.  I'm just glad that I got to see it on the big screen, although it was awfully loud.  The Chileans are deaf I think.  I know movie theaters are loud, but not this loud.  Anyways it was like a furnace in there and I had to take off my coat immediately.  I walked home after buying two candy bars....mmmmmm....chilean chocolate....and began to read.  I can't wait til this semester is done and I can relax.  Looks like the wireless net is having some problems as of late....like not giving out IP addresses....I hate it when the routers do that and there's no one there to reset them.  Anyways I found out that the Cartoon Network channel makes star wars cartoons about the clone wars so I've been watching that quite often.  Hopefully the net works next week cuz I want to use it.  I hate going to pixel.
