  March:

  Week 5 

Monday – 3-28

     Today was a normal day.  Just went to class and saw some presentations about modernism.  That was my literature class.  Then I ran accordingly to my shin splint chart...yes I'm having shin splints and they can be nasty...I've never had them before but I pity all of those who have ever had them.  So I have to cut my workouts way back.  My aunt said she wanted to read my book and then we could discuss it..It's for my lit classs and it's called the underdogs: a historical story about the mexican revolution.  So far I like it, but I don't care for the dialect.  I think it may even mention pancho villa.  hooray.  

Tuesday - 3-29

     My aunt having read about the entire underdogs book explained everything that had happened and I understood perfectly!   Partly as I had allready read about 30 pages of it.  Next we ate and I finally got into a discussion.  I'm proud....no no....no applause..thanks....anyways, we were talking about why england wants possession of an island that is really close to argentina.  The only reason I got into the discussion was because we had just talked about this in my first history class today.  What a coincidence that my family would bring it up.  Anyways England wants that island so they can say that they can claim antartica....which I know there's a treaty saying that it's unclaimable, but c'mon folks...with 40,000 billion barrels of oil.......how long is that gonna last?   Someday it will be claimed, and chile is the closest to the continent.  Interesting huh?  Then we talked about alexander the great and rome, troy and homers iliad and odesy.  We jumped around a lot and I was very interested to hear all of it because I like all those topics....I wish jaime were here so she could tell them what's up...because she knows everything about those topics.   I only say this because they like to argue.....haha...or discuss.    

Wednesday - 3-30

     Well I found out that the library has wireless internet.  I brought my laptop to the library to try it out and of course as always with wireless my card doesn't work very well.  I hate wireless!   So I went into the city to find the right card with my sister rocio.  We walked EVERYWHERE.  The first shop had them but they were 100 bucks...so on we went to other shops but no one has the card I need.  Finally we went to my brother antonio who also studies information technology.  He had a card but it's D-link...and as I know d-link chupa..or sucks.  haha.  it of course did not work so I may have to buy one on the internet, but that will save me money and I can go to the library anytime to use it.   (well almost).   Plus I'm thinking about buying divx because the size of my videos are getting large and I can't upload them because of the sheer size, but it will be worth it to those of you who want larger sized videos(meaning the screen size).  

Thursday - 3-31

     Today I went too two classes.  History of Chile and Linguistics.  Basically in the history class we are learning about the travels of the conquistadors like Columbus.  Now I don't feel so lost in linguistics as before because I actually understand the topic I'm covering for my group project, which is planning of linguistics....but does anyone really know what this is about off the top of their heads?  I sure didn't.  After poking around in the library for awhile I found the linguistics section, and guess what...they have books in English!  hahahahahaha, so I decided to read those to get an idea of what planned linguistics is.   In the third book I finally found a section( and this is allllll by chance), on the planning of linguistics.  It says that language has always been planned and that makes sense.  All those rules of grammar, those came from planning language...I suppose even the alphabet is planned.  So now I feel relieved. That class was like when I was in middle school, highschool, or even college, had a project but wasn't exactly sure what the teacher really wanted, or what format they wanted the project to be in.   

Friday - 4-1

     Today I had the headache of all headaches.  My sister went out with her friends.  I would have gone but I had such a bad headache I decided not to go.  Instead I watched spiderman in spanish!  it was pry better in spanish than in english because the english version is....i dunnno kinda hoaky, or tacky.  Also earlier in the day I went to get my hair cut in a brazilian hair place.  But, they were too busy and said to go back tomorrow.  

Saturday - 4-2

     Well I noticed that in the last two days since I only have 5 channels on the tv, that the last two days all programming had changed to one common theme...My television was now popevision as there are many catholics here.  Now I knew that the pope's health wasn't the best but yesterday I found out that he would probably die soon.  I guessed today would be the day, and was correct.  A sad day for all as all sports were cancelled in Italy and probably other places as well.  My family members went to a mass as I went to pixel the internet cafe to find out more info on what had happened.  I think he wanted to go though....because he decided to remain in the vatican and not to go to the hospital.
